the Prayer Wall

Dear Ignite Prayer and Fasting Partners,

Last Saturday, I threw a surprise birthday party for my wife. It was fun having friends and family celebrating together. It did take a lot of planning to set up the festivities (especially since I had to keep it quiet). I had help and when it was all over, the surprise and joy it brought Darla made it all worthwhile. Thinking of this, I realized the effort you make in prayer each month for the ministry of Ignite. Without your prayers, the planning would never become reality. Thank you for what you are doing to help move church planting forward in Chicagoland. We do have several things to celebrate…

1. O’Hare Project: We have hired a church planter for this new work! This couple went through the assessment process and were approved as church planters. They are now getting ready to wrap up their ministry and prepare to move to the area in the next couple of months. I will tell you more about them soon, but here is how you can pray for them now: Pray for their family and the transition they will make as they move here. Pray for him as he goes through Church Planter Boot Camp this week and as they prepare to raise funds for the new plant. I am excited about what lies ahead here.

2. McHenry County Project: We are moving forward in McHenry County! I spent last Thursday with Dave Rudin in McHenry County looking at potential meeting places for the church. I would like you to pray for Dave as he gathers core group members, as they lay plans toward a “soft launch” of the church (probably start April / May), as he continues to raise support for the church and for a place for the church to meet in the fall. Grand Opening month for the church is slated for October. There are many unchurched people in this region, please ask God to send some of them across the path of Dave and his team.

3. Simple Churches in Chicago: Mark and Katrina Willis are doing a good job raising and supporting leaders for simple (house) churches in Chicago. Darla and I attended the first Simple Church worship event last month and it was a very positive experience. Please pray for Mark and Katrina and for more leaders for this movement.

4. Cissna Park: We need wisdom to determine what to do with the building that we have been given in this small town. Wisdom is one thing God has told us we can ask Him for and I am asking for His help.

5. Adventure Christian Church (Bradley, IL): I know the church would appreciate our prayers as they are making the final push on their building project, trying to get in the new facility by the first Sunday in April. Please lift the workers up in your prayers.

6. Spring Banquet Planning: We are planning a Spring Celebration Banquet the end of April this year, but are still looking for a new place to host this event. We need to have this determined soon.

Thank you for your prayer effort. Prayer is the battle! Love in Christ, Lance
